(The Suffragio Church)

The Chiesa del Suffragio o della Misericordia has the facade with broken gable and portal with similar crowning. Inside there are eighteenth century plaster decorations. Large Crucifixes (the  logs) lean against the wall and are used for the solemn May 3rd Procession, a religious manifestation which has no comparisons in the Amiata, Grosseto and upper Lazio areas, and which originated as an ex votive offering for the escaped earthquake danger in 1778.
