Those coming from Montelaterone and Santa Maria ad Lamulas immediately spot its towered aspect. It appears stately and picturesque from any side. The old town keeps Aldobrandeschi's Fortress, that was besieged in 1331 by sienese, commanded by Guidoccio da Fogliano and later passed to the Medici Family in 1559.
